ARMORBEARER'S COUNCIL

Because we care for you and your family, your pastor and staff want to make certain that every member and family in our church experiences the love and support of the whole congregation.  Therefore, according to New Testament practice we have instituted a deacon ministry, which we call our Armorbearer’s Council.  Why Amorbearer’s?  Simply because these deacons that have been called, trained and set apart, will be assisting the pastor and staff to shepherd God’s church.  They will be an extension of the outreach of the pastor and staff.

How can a deacon/armorbearer help you?

There are some specific ways your deacon wants to try to help.
  • Visiting you
  • Rejoicing with you and your family
  • Giving support in times of crisis
  • Answering questions about faith or the church
  • Helping you know and find fellowship with other members and families in the church
  • Helping you find ways to serve in and through the church
  • Praying for you and with you
  • Hospital, Bereavement and sick care

In our Deacon Ministry every member and every family has a deacon. Feel free to call your deacon. Your deacon will seek to help you or link you to another helping person.

Responsibilities of a Deacon

The deacon/armorbearer will support and work with the pastor as follows:
  • To lead the church in achievement of its mission
  • To minister to believers and unbelievers
  • To care for the church's members and others in the community
  • To demonstrate consistent stewardship through the deacon's example in tithing to the church
  • To demonstrate Christ-like consecration, loyalty, prayer support and faithfulness to the pastor and church.
  • To encourage and strengthen new converts and the spiritually weak
In accordance with the meaning of the work and the practice of the Church in the New Testament, deacon/armorbearers are to be servants of the Church. Their task is to serve the church by extending the reach of the pastor and staff in performing the pastoral ministries of our church.
