Our Vision

It is our vision to be a place where the hurting find love, acceptance and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.
It is our vision to be a church where people of all countries and colors feel at home.
It is our vision to touch our city by our influence and in meeting societies needs.
It is our vision to grow 500 strong.
It is our vision to develop believers to spiritual maturity.
It is our vision to equip and enable believers for the ministry God has prepared for them.
It is our vision to raise up, equip, and send out scores of short term missionaries all over the world.
It is our vision to take Christ to the people, instead of just bringing people to Christ.
Our History
Gulf Coast Assembly of God began meeting in the Al Goll Center in 1983 with about 25 people in attendance. In 1985, 1.7 acres were purchased on South Chamberlain Blvd. and a log cabin church was built. The church met their for many years and was known by several names including, The log cabin church, Harvest Chapel Assembly of God, North Port Assembly of God and finally since 1996, Gulf Coast Assembly of God. The church worshiped with 35 people for many years.
Keith Jones was called as pastor in early 1998. On Chamberlain we began to see steady growth and undertook two building and remodeling projects. In 2000 - 2001 we completely renovated, added an addition and completely overhauled the building. The church continued to see steady growth. It was then that God performed a miracle and we were able to sell the old building and purchase our current location of nearly 7 acres (the former North Port Christian Church). Upon moving into the facilities in September, 2002, we began to update and remodel. We have completely remodeled the exterior buildings as well as add all new landscaping. We also installed new air conditioning, and completely renovated the interior of the educational building and installed a new sign and outside lighting.
We have continued to see steady growth as our city has grown.
Our Outreach
Gulf Coast Assembly of God provides over 100,000 meals each year to families in need in our community through the Gulf Coast Food Pantry. During the holidays we provide more than 50 full holiday meals to families in our community. Each year, our Back To School events provide children in need with school clothes and we provide school supplies and backpacks to the children of our church and community.
In the aftermath of recent hurricanes we have distributed 25 pallets of food to our community and the surrounding area. Gulf Coast Assembly of God also serves as a precinct polling place.
Our New Facility
New Sanctuary: In March of 2008 we completed our new 9000 sq. ft. sanctuary and office complex.
